When students, parents, educators, and partners have the right information to make decisions, students excel. Critical to data-driven decisionmaking is ensuring that researchers have secure, role-based access to data so they can partner with policymakers to answer key questions, support student learning, and make informed decisions. By forming research partnerships, state education agencies (SEAs), policymakers, practitioners, and education researchers at universities and other research institutes can work together to use research to provide the best education possible for all students.
Without high-quality and trustworthy education research, communities will be making decisions in the dark, and more students will be left behind. This roadmap is a guide for SEAs, policymakers, and policy leaders on how to partner with researchers to address important education questions through research.
