Stakeholders Using Data to Row in the Same Direction

Dr. Robert Green, superintendent of Collinsville Community School District, Illinois (CCSD) is committed to providing the support needed for district leaders and teachers to “row in the same direction” with a focus on student success! He has involved principals, teachers, and school board members in the effective use of data to improve student achievement, reflecting that an important part of using data effectively is to provide professional learning at all levels. CCSD has developed professional learning communities and created time for teachers to collaborate on how data influences their work. CCSD will soon begin intensive work in the area of formative assessment and how it will further assist CCSD stakeholders rowing in the same direction in support of student success. Hear more from Dr. Green about his insights on the use of professional learning communities to improve classroom instruction and student achievement here.  CCSD video is made available through the Closing the Gap: Turning Data into Action project, which has been funded by the Gates Foundation.
