To provide value, data systems and collaborations must serve learners and workers, policymakers, and other data consumers working to improve opportunities and outcomes for individuals. State longitudinal data systems serve as a critical foundation for federal data collection and are essential to ensuring access, usage, and collaboration across levels of government. This letter, signed by The Data Quality Campaign, was sent to the White House Office of Science and Technology as a response to a Request for Information about using data to connect state-level data systems to federal government efforts.
