Data Quality Campaign Welcomes Mark Dixon to Board of Directors

WASHINGTON (November 2025) – The Data Quality Campaign (DQC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Dixon, President of A+ Education Partnership, to DQC’s Board of Directors.

“DQC is thrilled that Mark Dixon has joined our Board of Directors,” said Jennifer Bell-Ellwanger, President and CEO of the Data Quality Campaign. “Mark’s leadership in education policy and his work to strengthen data-driven decisionmaking in Alabama reflect DQC’s mission to ensure that data works for all students and job seekers. His deep understanding of both state-level advocacy and system improvements necessary to strengthen education and workforce outcomes will be an invaluable asset to our Board.”

DQC welcomes Dixon and looks forward to his leadership, experience, and insight as a member of the Board.

Mark Dixon, President, A+ Education Partnership

As President of A+ Education Partnership, Dixon leads a statewide advocacy nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that every child in Alabama receives a world-class education, regardless of circumstance. In addition to its advocacy work, A+ directly supports schools across the state through its three programs: the A+ Best Practices Center, A+ College Ready, and the A+ Student VOICES Team.

Under Dixon’s leadership, A+ has played a key role in advancing and implementing evidence-based policy that strengthened outcomes for Alabama students. This includes the Alabama Literacy Act, the Alabama Numeracy Act, and the Renewing Alabama’s Investment in Student Excellence (RAISE) Act, as well as codifying the state’s longitudinal data system. A+ programs now provide professional learning to more than 2,000 educators each year.

After earning his BA in political science from Wake Forest University, Dixon served as an education policy advisor to former Alabama Governor Bob Riley. He later earned his MBA in strategic management and public policy from The George Washington University School of Business and completed an Education Pioneers Fellowship with Teach for America. Dixon spent seven years with General Electric (GE), where he was a graduate of GE’s Experienced Commercial Leadership Program and led project teams on five continents.

Dixon also serves on the boards of Children’s of Alabama, the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Alabama Possible, the Business Council of Alabama, and the Southern Regional Education Board.

Born and raised in Birmingham, Dixon now lives in Montgomery with his wife, Collier.
