Data Quality Campaign Welcomes Gavin Payne to the Board of Directors

WASHINGTON (October 24, 2024)The Data Quality Campaign (DQC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Gavin Payne, CEO of GPC Advisors, LLC, as the newest member of DQC’s Board of Directors.

“The DQC Board is proud to appoint Gavin Payne as our newest Board Member,” said Morgan Polikoff, chair of DQC’s Board of Directors. “Gavin’s demonstrated record of experience across state leadership and philanthropy has shown his dedication to data access and transparency. I know that he will provide valuable insights as DQC continues its work to ensure that data is used effectively to improve student outcomes and strengthen data systems across the country.”

DQC welcomes Payne and is eager to benefit from his wealth of knowledge and experience on the Board.

Gavin Payne, CEO, GPC Advisors, LLC 

As CEO of GPC Advisors, LLC, Gavin consults on K12 education policy for philanthropic organizations, institutions, corporations, and nonprofits. Prior to founding GPC Advisors, Gavin was Director of Policy, Advocacy & Communications for the US at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where he spent three years working to improve education systems from preschool through college. He also served over two decades as California’s Chief Deputy Superintendent of Public Instruction and as Chief of Staff in the California State Senate. 

Currently, Payne sits on the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and the California Cradle-to-Career Data System Board of Directors. Payne holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government from the University of California, Davis and was a Coro Foundation Fellow.
