Paul Bell is an operating partner at Lead Edge Capital, a growth equity firm based in New York. Paul and his partners invest in, and help develop, early-stage technology companies globally.
Prior to joining Lead Edge Capital, Bell was a senior executive at Dell from 1996 to 2012. From 2007 to 2009, Bell was president of the America’s region, and from 2000 to 2007, he was president of the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region based in London. Later he was president of the public sector business, which included all of Dell’s business in education, health care, and government around the world. In this role he was responsible for the development and delivery of hardware, software, and services platforms to educational institutions from K–12 through higher education. He and his team implemented innovative projects to integrate technology into learning environments and improve student achievement in China, Brazil, Western Europe, and North America.
Prior to joining Dell, Bell was a strategy consultant at Bain & Co. for six years and a corporate finance analyst at Morgan Stanley. He was a Peace Corps volunteer in Tunisia from 1983 to 1985.
Bell has a B.S. in economics and a B.A. in fine arts from the Pennsylvania State University. He was appointed to the university’s Board of Trustees by the governor of Pennsylvania, and served from 1980 to 1983. He earned an MBA from the Yale School of Management in 1990.
Bell lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife and three daughters. He is an instrument-rated pilot.
